Tongue ON Cheek: Irreverent Takes on Young Womanhood | Sara Rabin
Opening June 27, 2024 | Reception 5-7pm
Artist Sara Rabin’s work is both unpretentious and deeply observant. There’s an almost compulsive energy in her pencil and ink drawings that gives way to a brilliant intellect that feels deeply anchored in femininity. Our exhibit of her work showcases several of her sketchbook drawings alongside her popular digital airbrush pieces. Although she is sought out for branding projects, and has an unquestionably insightful talent for knowing what is cool and interesting, we are drawn to her simple sketches, as the preludes to so many of her more developed digital artworks. Her talent is on display in the simple, heartfelt, and quick-witted drawings that capture the woes and triumphs of navigating modern life as a young woman. Depression, sexuality, commercialism, and humor are artfully captured throughout her wonderfully conversational artworks.
