Lingering Thoughts on Transient Things: The Paintings of Heather McKenna Pardo

  • Lunk + Hancy 902 Green Bay Road Winnetka, IL, 60093 United States (map)

McKenna Pardo’s paintings capture ethereal elements of light and space and anchors them in shadow and proportion in a truly unique and special, utterly skillful way. Her art feels sturdy but never heavy, in fact it captures so much weightless energy within the canvas. The conversation her paint and canvas depict is not dense, but it’s somehow unavoidably deep. While keeping things ever so slightly out of focus, she manages to convey a clarity of purpose. One can never confuse her paintings with that of any other young painter. She is singular in her perspective and design, and presents imagery that feels visually symphonic, emotionally familiar, and yet consistently surprising in it’s form. We are excited to present an exhibition of her paintings in the gallery this fall. Artist reception on September 14th at 4-6pm.
